A dental prosthetic is a synthetic piece that is designed to fill a space in the mouth from a missing or broken tooth etc. The prosthetic creates a long lasting, natural look, and is usually placed within one visit after being created. There are several different types of prosthetics including dentures, partials, bridges, and additional ortho appliances.
This is an example of a prosthetic that was done in our office recently. Click below to read more about this case.
A denture is a removable appliance that is made to fill the space from missing teeth. They are made to closely resemble the look and feel of natural teeth. In some cases, the existing teeth are removed to create space for a full denture. See the case above for an example of this.
A Bridge. What is it? A bridge is an artificial tooth used to replace one that is missing. It is attached to your neighboring teeth. One of the benefits of using a bridge to replace a missing tooth (or teeth) is how natural it looks and feels. With proper care, bridges can last for years.
